Working in the University of Alicante, Spain, since 1978 as a research staff and as teacher since 1985, actually holds a permanent teaching position as professor in the Sciences Faculty, Ecology department, teaching in three different programs: Biology, Chemistry and Marine sciences imparting Biology, Ecology and Marine contamination.
Dr. Lledo has been involved as a researcher, speaker, manager and/or director in more than 15 national and international projects related to ecology and specially the use and role of water in different ecosystems. She is an expert in the recognition of the structure and chemical composition of Mediterranean vegetal species. Her research has taken her to almost all continents and she is an active participant in all field work required in her projects.
She is a recognized author in her field with more than 40 scientific articles, 3 books authoring, and chapters in 9 different books. Since 1991 she has been part of numerous PHD Dissertation Committees, main adviser of at least 3 PhD students, lecturer in scientific PhD programs and Masters and other academic courses besides her regular teaching activities.
